Front Door Whimsy

Sometimes we find here things we had only heard about.  Sometimes they are things that we thought we long ago used and aren’t around any more.  Then we got the keys to our house.

We had seen keys like this in old movies.  We have seen them in museums and in drawings in history books.  But now we use one everyday.  Does anyone in the US use these anymore?  It would be great to hear about it.

Call us simple, but sometimes it is the little whimsical things that help us settle into our new English home.

  1. 🙂 Those type keys are still being used in South Africa and in newer homes too. Jason and I were fascinated by it. The hotels used key cards, autos had keyless entry and the houses had skeleton keys. Hmmmmm…..
