It was wonderful to be back home for the 4th of July festivities.  Americans celebrate their nation’s birthday by bedecking everything and “everyone” in red, white and blue.  We enjoy time together with family and friends, outdoor grilling and picnics, and usually wrap up the day with massive fireworks displays in every town across the country.

We had such a blast yesterday with family.  It was a time to celebrate not only our nation’s 238th birthday but also being back together after a year apart.  The cousins laughed and played.  The dogs got right in the middle of everything.

We attended a local concert and fireworks display in the evening.  Here is a look at our American 4th of July.
