On Thursday we took the short 45 minute trip over to York. We wanted to show Andrea and Rebecca this ancient and very lovely city. It is one of our favourite places to visit. We showed them Clifford’s Tower whose motte was awash with daffodils. Clifford’s Tower is is the castle keep remnant of the Castle at York. It is a stunning example of a “Motte and Bailey” castle. Clifford’s Tower is part of the English Heritage parks. You can read more about them on my earlier blog post here…

Across from Clifford’s Tower is the York Castle Museum. We still had our tickets from our first trip to York and those are valid for one year. Many places across Great Britain offer tickets that are valid for one year. We took the girls in to see the Victorian street scene and the castle dungeons.
It was absolutely beautiful day. The weather was in the 60’s and spring sunshine prevailed all day for us. Here are a few more lovely views of Gorgeous York.
Cheers,
Beth
