Field Trip Friday #20

This Friday we decided to do a bit of a local history trip so we headed over to the DLI Museum. DLI stands for Durham Light Infantry. The Durham Light Infantry (DLI) was an infantry regiment of the British Army from 1881 to 1968. During this time the army was grouped somewhat by locality. There is a rich local military history well preserved here at the DLI Museum right here in the city of Durham. There is so much history available right here at our backdoor.

The “Faithful Durhams”, as they were nicknamed, served in both World Wars. We had a chance to see the British side of the history from both conflicts as well as others.  Here are some photos from the day.

We had a picnic lunch after our tour because it was such a lovely day outside.

We pray that your Easter Weekend will be blessed, whichever side of the pond you live on.

  1. Beth, Rob and Children,
I have so enjoyed reading your “Blogs” daily. Such an adventure. I feel that I know your family, which without this, I would never had this pleasure. Happy Easter to all of you, it should really be called “Thanksgiving Day”. We are all truly blessed to have our Living Christ to take us through each day. Take care and enjoy your time across the pond!! Martha Anne
