We began our 3rd day camping much dryer than the 2nd morning. We packed lunch and both families and a boxer hit the trail. We drove to the Little River Canyon Center to begin our hike. The center was packed with wonderful information about Alabama’s Canyon. They allow dogs on leashes inside. So no worries about leaving a hot dog in the car.
Little River Canyon is part of the US National Park System. You can read more about this amazingly beautiful part of Alabama here: http://www.nps.gov/liri/index.htm
We headed down the trail to hike to the bottom of the canyon.
Little River Canyon Falls was the first stop. What a view!
We ate our lunch at the bottom of the canyon and then hiked back out. It was a great day to celebrate our Alabama the beautiful.
